Disney World turns 50 full of magic, surprises and new shows3 min read
Walt Disney World Resort will celebrate its 50th birthday on October 1, becoming the largest and most visited amusement park in the world, in continuous expansion and with new experiences in its four theme parks to celebrate its five decades of existence.
The most magical celebration in the world, as defined by the company, will feature two new nightly ‘shows’, one at the Magic Kingdom and the other at EPCOT Park, as well as fifty golden sculptures of our characters, he said on Tuesday at a Statement to Efe Walt Disney World Resort.
The 18-month commemoration will feature Cinderella’s Castle in the converted Magic Kingdom park, displaying gold pennants, sparkling decorations and a 50th anniversary commemorative shield.
The new nighttime show called “Disney Enchantment” will illuminate the Magic Kingdom park and take visitors on a journey full of adventure, wonder and empowerment, the company said.
The “Disney Enchantment” will feature music, lights, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that stretch from Cinderella Castle to Main Street.
And at EPCOT Park, guests will be able to enjoy “Harmonious,” one of the largest nightly shows ever created for a Disney park.
This new show will bring everyone together at the World Showcase Lagoon in celebration of Disney music as a powerful tribute to the power of the union of history and music.
In “Harmonious” the technological magic that incorporates pyrotechnics with water fountains and surprising lighting in the night sky will come together.
The show will offer new interpretations of classic Disney songs in more than a dozen languages by a group of 240 artists from around the world.
In the Animal Kingdom, a “warm light will emanate from the Tree of Life while a flock of magical fireflies” will fly to give way to the magic of nature, according to the note.
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale will take center stage as part of a new collection of golden character sculptures located in all four Walt Disney World theme parks.
On such a special occasion, these beloved Walt Disney characters and hosts will be donning new outfits, a custom made clothing design in shades of gold with beautifully embroidered Cinderella Castle prints and fireworks on the back.
Visitors will be able to interact with the “Disney Fab 50” in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of Disney World.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will also be held on October 1 at EPCOT Park, an invitation to enjoy the world of the popular and award-winning Disney and Pixar animated film about a rat with a vocation as a Parisian “chef”.
“At this family-friendly attraction, guests will feel like shrinking to Chef Remy’s size and running through Gusteau’s famous restaurant,” he noted.
The Disney World fantasy park in Orlando (central Florida) is considered the largest theme park complex in the world. It also has water parks, golf courses, a sports center, hotels, hundreds of shops and restaurants and numerous entertainment venues.
