An intense snowfall threatens holiday travel in the United States.

Intense snowfall and gusts of wind in the central-northern regions of the United States are having adverse effects on travel during the Christmas and New Year season.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued alerts about winter conditions in five states, particularly highlighting Nebraska and Colorado.
The NWS urged the population to avoid going out unless absolutely necessary, emphasizing the risk of heavy snowfall and blizzards in these areas.

The Nebraska State Police reported responding to more than 100 weather-related incidents since December 25, Christmas Day.
Meteorological authorities warned of the likelihood of heavy rain in the northeast of the country tonight and tomorrow, with possible flash floods in Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York.

Approximately 4,200 flights have been reported canceled or delayed nationwide due to unfavorable weather conditions since Tuesday.
